About the Role:
US Job Finders is seeking a detail-oriented and deadline-driven Staff Accountant to support a growing business with full-cycle accounting responsibilities. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP, a knack for financial accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
You’ll be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing reconciliations, supporting tax documentation, and collaborating with senior staff to ensure the integrity of financial reporting. Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Perform monthly and year-end account reconciliations and journal entries
Support the month-end and quarter-end close processes
Assist in preparing financial documentation and schedules for tax return preparation
Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure consistent application of accounting principles
Collaborate with clients and senior team members to clarify reporting needs or resolve discrepancies
Ensure timely data entry, accuracy in financial records, and confidentiality of sensitive information
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1–3 years of relevant accounting experience
Experience in or exposure to construction accounting and other industry-specific workflows is a plus
Proficient in QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or other accounting platforms
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas
Understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, remote work environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with internal teams and clients
Nice to Have
CPA eligibility or progress toward certification
Experience with job costing, percentage-of-completion methods, or project-based accounting
Exposure to tax workflows and supporting documentation requests from CPAs or tax preparers
